Dr. Mariano Porto, MD

Dr. Mariano Porto is a board-certified neurologist. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed internship in internal medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, followed by neurology residency at University of California Irvine Medical Center. Thereafter, he returned to the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio for his fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology. He rotated through the University hospitals, Veterans Administration hospitals, and the Epilepsy Foundation. While in private practice in San Antonio, he received a multitude of experience in evaluating and treating a wide variety of patients including those with dementia, strokes, seizures, headaches, tremors, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, traumatic brain injury, and vertigo.

While Dr. Porto is a general neurologist, he has a special interest in migraines and in epilepsy.

He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. He is licensed in the state of Texas and Arizona.

In his free time, Dr. Porto enjoys biking, hikes, board games, traveling, and spending time with family.
